As of today (Jan 9th 2021), Nepal is still on Level 4 risk of COVID-19 (by CDC) totaling 264,521 total cases and 1,912 deaths. The COVID-19 data shows Nepal is recovering and registering less and less cases. But can we rely on that data?
On other side, Prime Minister of Nepal, KP Oli, dissolved the House of Representatives and announced a fresh election on April 30 & May 10 of 2021. This political upset was triggered from the clash of power-sharing between Oli & Prachanda. Hence, Nepal is again facing political instability.
When we view current situation of Nepal where COVID-19 cases are rapidly increasing and at the same time, Nepal is facing a tough political situation. On support of Oli and against Oli, many rallies are already started. People have gathered in the street to showcase their view. We feel ashamed of this situation when countries like Nepal should have focused on development and COVID-19 precautions. But instead politicians are playing the dirty game of who controls the power. How long will Nepal suffer from these illiterate politicians?
