City wins three EPL titles in four years.
The blue side of Manchester won their 5th EPL title.
Manchester City was crowned the English Premier League Champions last night following Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat to Leicester on their turf. With three games to spare, the blue side of Manchester has invincible 10 points lead against their fellow city rivals Manchester United.
Despite the worst start of the campaign since 2008/2009, having picked only a dozen points from their 8 starting games, their journey, post-November, to the PL crown has been quite remarkable that included a staggering 15 game winning run and record-equaling 11 consecutive away victories.
Last weekend’s stoppage-time defeat to Chelsea delayed the title celebration at the Etihad stadium but they regained the title from Liverpool following the 2-1 loss of Solskjaer’s man to Leicester on Tuesday.
Having already won the Carabao Cup this year after defeating Spurs 1-0 in April, this is City’s 3rd English Premier League title in four years and 5th overall. Manchester City will play fellow English rival Chelsea in their quest to first Champions League triumph late this month.

Barcelona’s title Chase gets a blow
Having already played a goalless draw to the table-toppers Athletico Madrid on Saturday, four days later, Barcelona blew the opportunity to top the La Liga table following their 3-3 draw to Levante. They threw two goals first-half lead by the hour mark. Although Dembele’s goal just after an hour mark gave Barcelona the lead but Leon’s 83rd-minute equalizer ensured the Catalans won’t escape with all three points.
Barcelona sits second on the table with 76 points sandwiched between table-toppers Athletico Madrid and reigning champions Real Madrid with a single point separating from both the capital rivals, having played 1 more game. Barcelona plays Celta Vigo at home to keep their title hope alive while Athletico Madrid will look to better their lead when they host Real Sociedad on Thursday. Meanwhile, Real Madrid will travel to Granada.
Bayern Munich’s reign continues
Borussia Dortmund’s win over RB Leipzig ensured that Bayern Munich are Bundesliga Champions again this year. This is Bayern’s 9th consecutive Bundesliga title. The table topper Bayern Munich was crowned Champions before their kick-off on Saturday after RB Leipzig failed to salvage must needed 3 points when they visited Dortmund. The champions secured 10 points unassailable lead to second place Leipzig after their dominant 6-0 win over Borussia M’gladbach later that evening.
