Leadership is a personal power to win the hearts and minds of people to achieve a common purpose. House et al. (2004, p. 184) stated that leadership is the ability of an individual to influence, motivate, and enable others to contribute towards the effectiveness and success of an organization. This shows how the principal shares leadership styles with people. How do the coordinators and teachers take the leadership styles of principal and practice based on it? The activities of the authority directly affect the achievement of the whole education system in the diverse cultural scenario.
Leadership is thought critical to innovation in schools. We know that school matter when it comes to improve student learning and we know a considerable role, condition of schools that contribute to innovation in diverse cultural scenario in public and private schools. We know, for example, that schools with shared visions and norms about instruction, norms of collaboration, and a sense of collective responsibility for students’ academic success creates incentives and opportunities for teachers to improve their practice in diverse situation (Newman, & Wehlage, 1995). The leadership styles of Principals, coordinators, teachers give sense for the development of whole education system. But all the schools don’t have similar kinds of leadership practices and achievement as well.
The ability of the leader plays vital role to manage and run the whole organization systematically. The leader’s clear vision, mission and objectives help all the responsible people to use their creativity to fulfill the gap. If the leader is bad one, the whole organization will be ruin within the short span of time. The leader needs to manage each and everything in superb form to fulfill the demands of diverse cultural situation. To manage the diverse culture situation is one of the challenging jobs for the leader. Because, it is the process of making sense of what people are doing together in education system so that people will understand and be committed towards the goal of organization (Drath, & Palus, 1994, p. 4).
Leadership styles are the best path to develop culture in the organization and help to lead the whole responsible people towards the goal attainment. The leader of the school has to face and fight with the different turning points to establish his leadership styles. Hemphill, & Coons (1957, p. 7) stated that leadership is the behavior of an individual directing the activities of a group towards the shared goals. This means leadership styles affect the activities of individual and help to follow the assigned path properly. Leadership styles differ from person to person for managing the diverse cultural situation.
