Trae Young torched the New York Knicks again to take a commanding lead of 3-1. The Atlanta Hawks unleashed all their dazzling array to prove that they are not a one man show and pounded the Knicks in every category. Young had 27 points and had plenty of help from his teammates with John Collins adding 22, Danilo Gallinari with 21 points. Young and five of his teammates scored in double figures with half a dozen players knocked down three pointers. Young also had 9 assists and joined the elite club in NBA history to average 25 points and 10 assists through his first four career playoff games. The Hawks once again pulled away in the second half for a blowout Victory of 113-96 to lead the series 3-1 and can wrap it up on Wednesday night when they travel to Madison square garden for game 5.
The Atlanta Hawks did struggle to hit their shots in the first half, but suddenly they found their range in the 2nd half. They went 10-19 including 5-9 beyond the arc. Young had 9, Collins added 7 and Bogdanovic closed out the third with a triple that had the fans bouncing on their seats. They completely turned the game over and all the Knicks players could do was watch and looked really helpless and had nothing going right on both ends of the floor.
Derrick Rose was only the stand-up player for the Knicks besides him everyone looked vulnerable. Their defence was awful to watch. Coach Thibodeau is being out coached once again. Randle who is an all-star caliber player was being allowed too many isolation plays. When Barrett was warming up, he got pulled and Bullock has been ineffective throughout the series. The whole team system is being messed up. The rhythm isn’t all over the place. The Knicks offense just can’t keep up with the Hawks offense. Randle was outplayed by John Collins. The Hawks are playing like how the Knicks played out the whole regular season. Hard-nosed, Mamba mentality with a swagger on the side. Julius Randle who led the league in minutes per game, Barrett who was top 15 even though he’s only 21 they certainly don’t have anything left at this point. Thibs team doesn’t have any gas left during this playoff series. Randle is just shooting 27.4% from the field for the series so far.
Trae Young pretty much looks unstoppable and they have too many shooters and on top of that every last one of those shooters are 6’7 or taller out there for the New York Knicks. Then they got Capela who has been dominating the paint. Gallinari, Trae, and Collins combined for 70 points and still it’s hard to believe that Trae wasn’t an all-star. Trae Young is just so fun to watch when he pulls a logo three every game and isn’t scared to back down from anyone.
