Just we thought Clippers were back to their vintage form to take over the series and move to next round with ease, but Luka had another thing in his mind and put up a huge number of 42 points, 14 assists and 8 rebounds with 6-12 from three and had a bunch of supporting players to help him get over the win and take a leas to go back to their home court to seal the deal. Luka was dominant from the early start to either score or assist to his teammates and helped to make a 22-3 run at the end of third quarter which was pivotal to win the game. He was again the best player in the court just as he did in game 1 and 2. Dallas coach made a huge adjustment by going huge in the lineup and it actually worked for them. The Clippers couldn’t attack the rim as they did in their recent wins and were forced to shoot from beyond the arc. Dallas really packed the point and dared the Clippers to shoot threes rather attacking the point but they were unable to capitalize it.
The key stretch of the game came in the third quarter, when the Clippers took a five point lead but from that point on Dallas went on a 22-3 run which kept the Clippers in a massive hole which they tried to climb out throughout the game. Luka was huge setting up his teammates during the run. The missed shots and turnovers really hurt the Clippers as they had a final shot to tie the game but Leonard was not in a position to bank the shot and came up short trailing 3-2 in the series. Dallas hung on for a 105-100 win and can close the series in Dallas on Friday night.Hardaway finished with 20 points for Dallas on 6-19 shooting. He and Luka were the only players to score in double figure for the Clippers Paul George finished with 23 points; Kawhi Leonard had 20 points, Reggie Jackson even scored 20 and Marcus Morris added 16 points. The Clippers just had too many turnovers in the 4th quarter. Terrance Mann had the opportunity for a lay-up or dunk to have a 1 point lead in the closing seconds for the Clippers but he missed. This series has been really weird because home court advantage has been the opposite throughout these 5 games but overall it was a great game to witness. Buckle your seatbelt for the next game in Dallas as it is, ‘win or go Home’ for the Los Angeles Clippers.
