Ministry of Health and Population has stated that no new variant has been discovered in Nepal other than those which has already been confirmed in Nepal previously. WHO has also confirmed that no new variant of the virus has been detected in Nepal via social media-Twitter. British Tabloid has confirmed that new variant has been detected in Nepal. Hours after such claim, WHO and MOHP has claimed that no new has been detected as of now in the country.
Three variants called as Alpha (B.1.1.7), Delta (B.1.617.2) and Kappa (B.1.617.1) has been so far circulating in Nepal. Among the three Delta is the dominating variant seen in Nepal.
UK based Daily Mail reported that new variant which is resistant to the vaccines has been detected in Nepal on Wednesday night. Ministry of Health and Population has warned the social media only to disseminate those news and information only after verifying its sources and genuineness with the Ministry of Health and Population.
UK based tabloid has circulated such news to Europe. Same news was firstly denied by WHO and followed by the Confirmation of MOHP.
