Devin Booker put on a show while hitting 83 points and 6-63 pointer in the 1st quarter was too much to handle. The Suns came out on fire and were hitting all kind of shots without missing anything and were soon up by 29 by the middle of the 2nd quarter. Devin Booker was the real damager scoring 22 points in the 1st quarter and was 6-6 from beyond the arc. The other star was Jae Crowder who chipped in 118 points while CP3 had 12 assists. Every time the Lakers tried to come back in the game but were unable to as Chris Paul either assisted or scored on his own to take the game away from Lakers.
Lebron James who had never lost a first round series in his career with 14-0 suffered this one. The Lakers were supposed to defend their title and had a roster too to repeat but the injuries played a significant role crashing their dreams. The biggest injury was on Anthony Davis who was the head of snake on the defense; he did tries to give a try during this game but could last only 5 minutes. The Lakers did showed lot of heart and grit trying to come back in this game and was able to cut the deficit to 10 but them themselves too deep during the 1st quarter which was almost impossible to flip the game. The Lakers are done and head into an offseason with full of question on how to build a championship roster around Lebron James and injured Anthony Davis. They lost the game by 113-100, losing the series 4-2.
Though the Lakers were banged up, there’s nothing to take away from the phoenix, which had the second best record during the regular season and showed it wasn’t a fluke taking down the defending champions. Booker finished with a monster night, scoring 47 points on 15-22 shooting. This was really a validating win for the Phoenix Suns while their fans waited for a long time to cheer.
