Nepal has received medical supply aid from Japan. The government of Japan provided 160 oxygen concentrators, 25 blood gas analyzers and 25 ultrasound image diagnostic systems from Japan. The ministry of foreign affairs (MOFA) confirmed the Japanese aid on Thursday. Japan has also promised 6 ambulances which are expected to arrive later.
In its fight with the covid-19 crisis, Nepalese government has been stressing in making oxygen cylinders available for the victims and this help from Japanese government could not have come at a better time. This is not the first time that Japan has shown its concern and extended a helping hand to Nepal in such a crisis situation. In 2015, in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake, Japan supported Nepal by providing a NRS 26 billion grant for reconstruction works.
Japan has recently shown its longstanding bond of friendship towards Nepal by providing some essential health equipment to Nepalese government. Nepal has been facing a crisis situation due to the covid-19 pandemic in recent months and has been struggling to take care of the affected citizens in absence of adequate medical supplies and health accessories.
