The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.K. Stalin has extended the lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. The lockdown will happen until June 14 though there are some relaxations on rules based on the spread of the infection in the area. The districts in north and south Tamil Nadu and Chennai have fewer COVID-19 cases and the restrictions are lifted to a greater extent. The 11 districts in the west and delta region will have much less restrictions.
Though the restrictions are lifted for grocery shops, fish and meat stalls between 6 am to 5 pm, shopping centers, tourist places, movie halls and salons will be shut down in the whole state.
The government offices will only work with 30 percent of its staff. The housekeeping service is permitted for the apartments through online registration. The public taxis and auto rickshaws can run with online registration as well.
The Chief Minister has advised people to shop for groceries near their homes. He asked the people to abide by social distancing measures.
