The Facebook and Instagram accounts of former US president Donald Trump have been suspended for two years. Mr Trump had been banned indefinitely from using the facebook platform in January for his posts on the time of US Capital riots. Facebook believes Mr Trump has violated the rules of facebook. Mr. Trump believes the decision of Facebook is an insult to the millions of people who voted for him in the USA presidential elections.
Facebook has updated the policy and doesn’t give immunity to anyone who violates the rules such as posting deceptive or abusive content. Earlier, facebook shielded politicians on content moderation rules.
Other than Facebook, Mr Trump has also been banned from Twitter, Youtube, Snapchat, Twitch over the January riots.
Facebook has updated its policy recently where the facebook will suspend the account of the violator for a month, or in more serious cases for upto two years.
