After looking at the performance of young Amad Diallo, he was called up to the senior team. The youngster played eight times for the red devils and scored once in the seasons of 2020/21. Next, he was called up for the Ivory Coast squad; Diallo made his first debut for his national team in March.
Diallo’s second appearance for the national team was on Saturday’s game which was against Burkina Faso. The 18-year-old was out in the field 62nd minute, which got Ivory Coast 1-0 down.
In the 96th minute of the game, the score was on level when the home team got a free kick in a dangerous position. The free kick was offered to Amad, and he took a shot. He was sure about where the shot was going; he shoots right at the top corner and gets a goal for Ivory Coast. It was his first goal for his national team. Even though the keeper kept the player in the line, Amad was able to bend the shot into the post.
Manchester United and Ivory Coast are sure about having a great spark in their ranks. Although there was talk about the young player, Ole Gunnar was questioned about the potential of Amad. “He’s still a young lad, he’s 18, but of course, we see the top, top potential in him,” said Solskjaer of Amad in March, per Sky Sports.
“The player doesn’t seem to speak English very well, and he sure will have to work on the language to make in conversations.” So Amad is on the go.
