A provisional side of England got the better of Romania with 1-0 in the early warm-up game last Sunday. Gareth Southgate, manager of the England national team, made nice changes to the team where Rashford transformed the 68th penalty. The same worked for taking victory over Austria with the same score on Wednesday.
Florin Nita was rooted to the spot, giving a chance to get a shot right after Tiberiu took down Jack Grealish. Although, the Romanian keeper showed his effort after saving a beautiful penalty shot by Jordan Henderson.
Henderson had an injury in the adductor muscles in February. It was his first appearance since then, and getting into the ground after halftime substitute, he was not able to score a 78th-minute penalty kick.
The game was interesting as both of the teams were equally participating at the Riverside Stadium. England got two shots in the first half, where the shot was taken to the woodwork. Romania was also not stopping its attack as Deian Sorescu was stretching forward for a shot, but Johnstone was able to block it.
Then comes the England players with Calvert heading against the crossbar in the 32nd minute of the game where Prowse took the free-kick. Then, just 6 minutes later, Jadon Sancho took a shot at the woodwork inside the penalty area.
England now has the lead in the game, but the lead for the team was at stake when Andrei Ivan came with a close-range volley, but Johnstone was able to save the shot.
Substitute for England, who brought up Jude Bellingham, was rushing forward right to the end, trying to stretch out with a header to get on the far post. England was looking for another.
