One spare seat, out of the six total seats of Jeff Bezos “Blue Origin” space rocket set to blast off to space this 20 July, has been sold in an auction bid to a bidder whose identity is yet to be revealed. The seat was sold for $28m, as announced on Saturday.
The auction had started with 20 active bidders initially with $4.8m which rose to $28m at the last minute of the ten minutes long auction. About 7,600 people from 159 countries had registered to bid in the auction.
The winner of the $28m seat will be joining Jeff Bezos and Jeff’s brother along with three other people whose identity too remains to be revealed.
As per Bezos’s recent Instagram post, he had dreamt of travelling to space since age 5.
